Merriest of Merrys to You!

Merriest of Merrys to you!  My heart and mind are in about a million places right now.  Cooking.  Gifting.  Laughing.  Reflecting.

It’s funny how the end of the year is just a mere week away and how both it and Christmas bring about a resounding opportunity for reflection.

Feeling Set Aside (Alternately Titled: Maybe I Was just Bloated)

I’ve grown familiar to the digital neon light that breaks the darkness in our room.  We, the neon light and I, routinely meet around 3:00am—and about four other times throughout the night.  This baby girl pretends my bladder is a squeeze toy.

On Trimming Trees & Sweet Baked Things

I love Christmas time.  For the Christian, it is a time of reflection on God’s gift, His redemptive plan, the incarnation, and the virgin birth.  Maybe it’s the impending date on the calendar or the cheery Christmas music exploding from my car radio, or maybe it’s just the stirring of my heart…but as of late, my mind has been saturated with these things.

Bubble Pizza

Super quick and surprisingly awesome flavor – I tried a new recipe for lunch today after church.  The nice thing about this is that it would be easy to customize to your family’s taste – if you like other toppings, more sauce or less sauce, different cheeses, it’s up to you!

Where’s MY Pacifier? (The one where I do a lot of yelling in all caps...)

Yesterday about did me in.  It was a culmination of considerably terrible events including a dog-related emergency, a health insurance debacle, three very smelly poopy diapers, and a missing bank card.

In Retrospect, I Should Have Bought the Canned Green Beans

Today was First Family Noon Meal after church.  In certain months for special occasions, the church caters the meat and people are loosely assigned a dish category according to your last name.  Today, A-J folks were bringing the vegetables.  (Of course, it’s not like you can’t jump ship and bring a dessert, but this way, it helps ensure we’re not all just gnawing on pie crust.)

The Obligatory “Welcome” Post (Alternately Titled: Hello! I’m new here!)

Greetings!  I have literally just created this blog, picked the template, and set the settings...to tell you the truth, I have not a clue as to whether I did any of this correctly and, if I didn’t, there’s a good chance I’ll never know.  The initial set-up is something more like baptism by fire.  I guess they want to make sure I’m committed to this thing called blogging before they just let me jump in.
